My friend offered to sell me his MTX 300XD amp. Is that big enough to power my 2 hertz ES250 subs? Also, is 4 gauge wire nessesary? Or can i get away with 8?

 

The amp would in fact power the subs however since you have two of them the amp will definitely not be powering them at what the subs are capable of handling at rms. so depending on what you're expecting of your subs there is always better choices for amps out there.

As for the wires you could get away with using 8 gauge but personally i never use anything other then 0-4 on my amplifiers.
