What happened to Harmon Kardon car audio?

What ever happened to H/K car audio equip? I know some high end cars still come with it from the factory. My computer even has H/K speakers. I bought some solid H/K car power amps years ago but are they still into car audio or not?

Fairly certain they pulled an Eclipse and opted to supply auto manufacturers as their only showing in car audio.

HK is now the parent to infinity and JBL.. still car audio and still has some HK into it but as a brand name for car audio... doesnt look like it.

This is true statement and it looks like Harmon bought JBL in 1969, so I would assume they just let the JBL and Infinity names carry on the aftermarket car audio torch in the mid-90's since they probably already had a greater following. Just a hunch though.

Here is an interesting read: http://www.jbl.com/EN-US/aboutus/History/Pages/History.aspx
