I know just enough about car audio to know what I need (Ohms, power rating, what gauge wire to use, how to install, etc) but not enough to make an informed decision on what speakers are going to be good and what brands are reputable.

I am looking for component speakers for my girlfriend's Ford. I have a very nice set of speakers (Alpine) in my Mustang and was hoping I could get another pair for her. Sadly, they don't make them anymore, which is no shocker because I have noticed 5x7 and 6x8 are very unpopular.

I already have a solid Alpine 4 channel that I would like to install in her car, it is 75W @ 2ohms.

So what I need is: Component speakers that are either 5x7,6x8, or 6.5 with a adapter (the latter is not the most ideal option for me though)

My budget is ~150$, more than happy to spend a little more if the quality outweighs the cost though.

Would prefer 2 ohm speakers to maximize the output of the amp.

They really have to be component, I have never really cared for coaxial speakers. I don't like the sound stage being on the floor I guess.

If you guy's could throw some suggestions my way as well as some opinions I would be very grateful. There are so many brands and all of them claim to be the highest quality so I don't know what to buy for her.

will be hard to find a great set at 150$.. i'd highly suggest going a little higher and getting a solid set of morel tempo 6 , hertz energy or focal polyglass or hybrid imagine for the best under 300$
