I have 2 15s audiopipes I'm running them on a 4000 watt SSL mono block I'm only hitting 90db its in a seal box . Is there anything I can do to get more power? And what do i need do i need? Its in a 2008 impala.

 

Well first off that amp is only putting out around 1100 watts rms and your 15's are in a sealed box. No chance of getting anywhere near 150db. What you would need to do is get a bigger and better amp, at least say 3000 watts rms, then you need two good 15's and put them in a ported box. Way more things come into play but that would be a start

 

Ya you need to go with ported boxes first and for most,
Second, you will never hit a 150db with that SSL amp.. Period. So at some point you'll need a much better amp the actually puts out power.
Last thing I would change is the woofers, since they can handle the SSL amp no problem. They aren't the best you can get but they can get you by for now.

Are you planning on this just for competition (1 note high frequency and loud) or looking for something that plays low bass (27hz and up) and flexs the car to and makes it hard to breathe?


And a termlab or SPL meter is definitely going to be needed, whether you have one, a friend has one, or rent some time at a shop with one... But you can't just guess and ear-o-meter
