Sub Wiring Help

I thinking about buying 3 12'' earthquake sws subs. They are 4 ohm svc.
I was just wondering how i would wire these? I have been told i have to wire them into 1.3 ohms. How do i do that? Do i need an amp that is one ohm stable? And do i have to wire it in series, so 300 rms to each sub, so i would need a 900 rms amp? Or parralell so 300 rms at 1 ohm?

sorry i dont know much about wiring.

If you wire them in series you will create a 12ohm load, and will have a hard time getting enough power to them. Plus it has been debated that wiring subwoofers in series will increase noise and distortion.

If you wire them in parallel you will get a 1.33 ohm load. So you will need an amp that is stable below this, so yes you will need a one ohm stable amp. This is the way to go.

If each sub can handle 300Wrms then to fully power them all you should get an amp that puts out about 1000Wrms into a 1ohm load.

alrite cool. i always thought that if you wired subs parallel and say i had a 1000wrms amp then 1000wrms would go through the whole circuit.

1000W will go through the whole system. Well it won't be quite 1000W because that is the power into a 1ohm load not a 1.33ohms. But the power will be divided between the three subwoofers, hence 300 each.
