HELP!!! New truck popping!

Hey I recently bought a new truck with a nonstock stereo already in it. It consistes of a head unit and two front and rear speakers. Whenever I hit a button on my head unit it makes a loud popping noise through the speakers. I think it has something to do with the ground.

Am I right?

How can I test this?

Yup, sounds like a ground.

Take the deck out and try regrounding it on a bare (no paint) piece of metal. Or for testing purposes, run a wire straight to the battery.

I made my own ground on the firewall by simply drilling a hole (make sure you pay attention to where the drill is going through) and popping in a bolt with washers and a nut to tighten it down. Sounds like alot of work, but its a stable ground and worth it in the end.

Almost forgot to mention, i put anti-corrosion on the hole i drilled to prevent rust. Gotta love Canada for the rust. lol

Hey I checked my ground but it's all good. Im thinking of bringing it into a shop to get fixed. I think it has to do with the speaker wires, but I didnt run them so I may be getting in over my head.
