Asking all installers

Hope you guys can help.

A fellow coworker was installing a deck in his 2002 civic. Well doing the install on it the kid touched the ground wire and yellow wire by mistake and blew a fuse.

Factory Alarm does not work, as well as neons. I haven't had time to look at it yet, but I am thinking he might of blown a 12v consent power fuse. Question is does anyone now if the car has a 12v consent power fuse or what do you all think it might be?

Thanks

He didn't prep the harness before hand, your just asking for trouble doing it in the car.

I also take it he tried to hard wire it in right

As to your question,it does and doesn't sound like its from the HU install in a sense.

What does he have these neons hooked up to,is it fuse taped to the cig lighter or sometihng.

It sounds like when he poped that the fuse for the radio he also probly popped the neon fuse(if one was used) and probly Like a 60 amp fuse.

Just get a DMM and start testing

ok basicly what I got from him, is that when the the wires touched, the deck got no more power, so he wired the "yellow wire" to a different consent power and the deck works.

So what ever fuse he blew runs the alarm and his neons, thinking who ever installed the neons ran it to a consent 12v which the alarm run of too, guess I just got to start pulling fuses and checking
