Weird Fader Problem
Weird Fader Problem
Hey guys...
i just got some car audio installed by a friend and am having a few issues... first ill name the components i have
Acura EL 1997
Alpine MRV-M605 600RMS at 2Ohm
Alpine MRV-F345 4 x 75RMS @ 4 Ohm
Alpine Type R 1242 500RMS @ 2ohm
Infinity 6.5 Components
Infinity 6/9 2 Ways
Stinger 1 Farad Cap
the problem i am having is with the fader... if the fader is put to center , i hear all channels, if it is rear, then just rear, and then if front, then nothing at all... any idea what could cause this.... also, another problem i am having is that the sub is not hitting hard at allll... i had another sub in there before but in a ported box, but i got it switched to sealed and now it delivers less bass then my logitech sub on my computer... i have absolutely no idea what could be the problem, any help would be greatly appreciated

You never mentioned what deck your using, my guess is you only have rear preouts and they were "Y`d" to use for all signals and thats why fader does not work properly as they are hooked to rear only.
Just a guess without knowing or seeing system

OH sorry, im using the pioneer 690ub
I looked at your deck specifications and it is a triple pre-out deck, so you should have 3 sets of rca`s running back to the amps, its possible your installer might have mixed up the orientation of them in the rear.
I would take it back and get them to go through it and rectify the problem and if they cant take it to a known local shop and get it fixed properly.

ok, i took it back and got another set of rca's put in, so now i have one seperate for the sub, rear and front however i am still having almost the same problem. Basically i can fade to back but cannot fade to front, the rears ALWAYS run... the weird thing is, we tried to test it by fading to front/right and then plugged in only that one rca(not one set, just one right channel), however, it ran TWO speakers as (the front right and rear right, how that is possible, i have no clue.... could it be a problem with the amp that it is somehow always sending a signal to the rear speakers or is this a installation issue still?
