I have been getting flamed for suggesting in other posts that I might buy from an online dealer south of the boarder.

I buy subs and speakers off eBay. Most sellers come with a 1 year warranty themselves. I bought two 12" Alpine SWR-1242D for 290$ CDN. They are like 300$ a piece at any store over here.

I wouldn't say its gettin flamed, it is just that we would rather support the local economy. Which in turn raises the Canadian dollar value, and also helps keep the sport alive in Canada.

If everyone bought from the states or online, there would be no need for actual shops here, which would = no shows. So even though I might be able to get something for $20 online, I will still support local. Local, being Canada, cause I am gettin a set of morels from Tim. Even though his shop is in BC, and I am in Alberta.

not too mention, buying from a local shop helps you too. I found by getting to know my local shop (electronics and appliances), I get better deals, on everything I buy there. Easier warrenty, with immediate replacement (when in stock). But if you are looking for something that can't be found at your local shop, and you have to have that brand, then if you have to go online than you have to go online. Can't really do alot about that. To each there own I say. I prefer local shops, but everyone is entitled to there opinion.

anyone with advanced macroeconomic knowledge here?
you might support buying from whomever makes the best product for the best price... it encourages efficiency, economies of scale, lower prices and overall a higher GDP... but do we want that?
