Zapco, Audison or US Amps?
Looking to purchase new amps and have decided on these 3. Zapco at their reference line, Audison at their LRx line and US Amps at their x series. From people who are using these amps currently or had used in the past which would be a good choice. Looking at amps to be used in a SQ set up with the ability to turn it up here and there. Thanks
I have used both the Zapco Reference, Zapco Competition and Audison LRX Line. I prefer the Zapco's overall. The reference is already very good and powerful in SQ if your budget is tight. Zapco Competition can be a little more expensive but it's definitely worth the money. The LRX line is just decent, but I love the Zapco's.
I had a zapco, used it for a VERY short period.
Absolutely loved it.
It was a REF(?)750 I think, I know it was a 750 (maybe the line previous to REF, the white ones) and it was absolutely clean, brutish and clear even though it was a few years old. It put the big RF I replaced with it to shame, really, though technically it would have cost more new.
Where do you plan to find Zapco in Toronto, though?
I would buy a zapco again in the future if I could find one through an authorized local source, basically.
US amps have heard nothing but good things. I plan to invest in one if/when I wanted a serious setup.
Audison is marketed as THE 'SQ' amp...but I am not sure if the quality overall of the 'lower-end' Audison lines outweighs the price. Perhaps they arent as good, bang-for-the-buck wise, as some others, at their 'entry level' line's price point.

I used to have a Zapco C2K-2.0 (Competition Serie). I sold it to psx2000 because I wanted a little more power.
I replaced it by a JL audio 300/2. A really clean amp and I am happy with it. But I prefer the Zapco. The sonic differences are subtle but I find the Zapco to be more dynamic and musical.
But again, it is very subtle and could simply be a matter of taste.
If I have the chance in the future, I will buy two Zapco C2K-3.0 to powered my sub and my comps.
Meanwhile, I will enjoyed my JL set-up.
