Right now i am running two 300Wrms subs with 200W. By upgrading my amp to 550w there would be a very significant difference in loudness right?

I was also wondering what gauge i would have to upgrade to. Right now i have 8 gauge. I don't think that will suffice. Will i have to go to 6 or possibly 4 gauge to run a 550w amp?

What type of amp is it. If it's 550W peak I would just keep it at 8 gauge. If it's 550W RMS then I would goto 4 gauge but you can get away with it. 19-22FT of 8 gauge (True 8 gauge) has a maximum draw amount of between 45-60amps without to much loss. And yes it would increase the volume.

0/1 gauge so if you add anamp you do not need to do more wire at that time later
