What exactly do they do to "MOD" these amp to put out more power? Can this be done with any amp or specific ones only?

 

Modded amps vary. Most remove protection in order to be able to push amps harder. Like being able to use 18volt power, being able to take real low loads. I'm sure there are more complex mods but thats pretty much it. You do have to watch though you can release the magic smoke very easily without protection. I think you can easily mod most amps. If its a DB drag favorite then you can most likely mod it easily.

adding capacitors at the power supply is very common also.

 

Is there some sort of schematic that shows how or where to do this? As well how big of cap would you add?

I modded the high level inputs on my 180.2 [img]graemlins/dunno.gif[/img] if that counts. The amp is a beast at 1ohm mono but blows fuses after a couple minutes of playing [img]smile.gif[/img]
