i am going to be buying a car with an eclipse deck in it. i will either be selling it or putting it in my other car.

i know eclipse decks have that ESN thing where they lock out, i am curious what will trigger this and how i can avoid it.

esn kicks in as soon as power is lost.

sooner or later, you'll need the key disc.

the current owner of the deck can deprogram the key disc and you can assign your own.

you can also deactivate the ESN, but I'll be damned if I know how to do it. Both of the Eclipse decks that I have bought used didn't have the ESN active

okay then..

the car is a parts car, the deck is fairly new, it's a 5441, how will i know if the ESN is activated???

so if i disco the battery, the ESN will activate if it is set??

that sounds like a lot of work, but definately cool... if i were on the other end anyways.

i've heard great things about eclipse, not just quality, but their service as well.

can anyone confirm or share their experiences..

if i do get the car i will have a nak MB-75 and a eclipse 5441, which would you use??
