Bass problems

I just recently purchased a new alpine deck and installed it (CDA-9883). I used to have a pioneer deh-p80mp i believe is the model number. When I used the pioneer deck i noticed that my type s subs hit like twice as hard as they do in the alpine deck. I turned up the bass setting and it helped a bit but there still not hitting near as hard as they used to. Is there other settings in the deck to make them push harder or whats going on? Thanks

Have you adjusted the subwoofer level?

Maybe you had bass boost or something on with the pioneer deck. I dont think alpine messes with loudness or bbe or anything like that. But I dont know Alpine very well either.

How is the volume of the rest of your system? I had an old Alpine deck that would play really quiet and once it was turned up past 30 it would just scream. I took it back and swapped it for a new one and everything worked fine.

most of the alpine deck only have a 2 volt preout or something like that dont they? pioneer up around 4 or so? is that enough to make the difference? me and a buddy had ext. rangers i had a kenwood deck and he has an alpine we put my amp and subs in his so really the only thing different was the deck i had a stock battery and he had a yellow top and he could never get his hitting as hard as mine...

Well, assuming everything was the same settings wise in two cars with the same systems, the 2v deck would play at the same loudness at half volume that the 4v deck would play at a quarter volume.
