ran across this looking for reviews on clarion for a buddy... any truth to this at all? or complete [img]graemlins/bs.gif[/img] ?¿

Clarion did in fact buy out Macintosh. I am not sure about the rebadging issue though.

I don't know about the rebadging but at one time the output sections of Clarion amps were from Mac amps but that was years ago, after all the purchase of Mac was also years ago.

All mac decks and changers have been clarion.

I had an old clarion 40x4. Don't know the model number. It was one of those old grey beasts. A clarion rep at the time told me that it was a mac amp. He could have been blowing smoke up my ****.
