slotted Ported boxes

I am curious about Slot port boxes. Can someone give me a link so I can read up about how they work and how I would calculate the proper measurements for a good, tuned, enclosure?
Also, what size of slot port enlcosure would you recommend for a RF Z 12" (cheap is the key!). [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Are you talking about a standard vented box that uses a rectangular slot for the vent rather than pipe? If so, they model the same and all I suggest is never make one of the slot dimensions under 1.5"
Or are you talking about a boundary loaded woofer where the woofer fires into a small chamber that is exposed on one or two sides?
