New meaning to"a funny smell coming from my sub"?

Soooo...JVC's Arsenal line has new subs made of Hemp(the cone)
Just wondering if anyone owns one and general thoughts on the subs.
I don't know man...these subs look beefy....not that that means anything.

I'm just the kind of guy that would like to tell people my subs are made of weed.lol.

thats probobly the most retarded marketing gimmick I have ever heard of. I wonder though if there are any benefits to using hemp instead of paper for cones. Reminds me of the company chronic audio...that one dissappeared fast

actually... hemp should be stronger than a regular paper cone at a given mass... so I wouldn't say it's gimmick..

btw.. there was another company who really pushed the idea named hemp acoustics.. they were either bought out or went in to a partnership with another company because the product really was worth while.

Hemp is a superior material to paper and also to cotton for textiles. It is stronger, requires less refining, produces less waste, and grows both faster and more readily.

If you are into conspiracy theories, there is an interesting one surrounding Eli Whitney, the cotton gin, and the oppression of hemp.

If it's a pressed hemp pulp cone I wouldn't expect much difference from a regular pressed pulp cone.. if it's a composite cone using hemp cloth, it would be somewhat akin to using kevlar which is a strong, durable fabric...

On the otherhand for a speaker cone, carbon fiber or fiberglass is going to give a harder cone that is less prone to breakup for a given weight....

Hemp accoustics has some interesting products...

The TSUZUREKO 25 looks insain !
