Looking for an SQ sub
well im looking to pick up some new subs. im changeing from a dd3512a . i loved the sub. just wasnt tight enough for my taste. so now im thinking of getting 1 or 2 10"s.
ive been looking at the infinity perfect. but the problem would be i would only be able to afford 1 of these subwoofers.
would it be better for me to get 2 of teh reference series 10's or jsut teh 1 perfect. i still want to get loud but i want the sq . ho wmuch of a difference woul di notice??

The perfect 10 sounds great. Its really efficient, and handles quite a bit of power. It would be more than sufficient for sub bass in a SQ system.
The Image Dynamics IDQ is a fantastic SQ sub. I dont know of any local dealers, but if you could find a couple 10s, It would work out well.
What amps are you running? (or plan on running)

The chalange to translate our bable to what you need to know and ultimitly lsten to in your car. Personaly I own one referance 10 in an sealed box,oh 6.5 front stage and if memory serves me corect 5 1/4 rear. I've thought about upgrading to the perfects or to the Memphis line. I realy like what I have and would recomend it to all who ask. But it is your ears not mine. It did get me to this years Worlds so a few other people seem to agree with me. If you are serious about an SQ woofer (should the sealed box idea not pan out), try one of the following:
Purist, low efficiency performance:
PPI Pro 10
Elemental Designs 10o
Extended low frequency performance:
Pioneer TS-W12PRC (was that the name?)
AVI (higher end models, i forget which one it was)
Great overall value and performance:
Alpine Type-R 12
Last years Pioneer Premiere 10
Those are the ones that stand out in my head at this moment.

The Pro 10 is one of the tightest, fastest and most linear subs I have ever heard. It also can play pretty high in terms of frequency. As i recall, the 10 has its first cone breakup at around 1,000 Hz.
The only drawback is that it is incredible inneficient. Something around 84 dB or so at 1 Watt. But I'll take it for the SQ...
