I am just looking for some feedback on how you think this would turn out. The system is planned as follows,

Headunit:
-eclipse 8443 or higher end alpine

Front Stage Either:
-MB Quart RSB 215 (5.25 and 1 inch tweeter) or
-MB Quart QM 160.03KX (6.5 and 3/4 inch tweeter suspended over the mid)

Amps
Rockford 800@4 and
Rockford 800@2

Sub
ED 15a

Processing
Audiocontrol DQX (Maybe)

It would all go into a 99 four door grand prix this spring. I have 70sq feet of brown bread already. The front mids would go in the door for now, with all of the proper install measures taken to achieve the best sound possible.

I will be trying to install most of the equipment myself. I, like alot of people feel that I have read enough about most of basics and are ready to give them a try.
I already own the amps and speakers, and depending on availibility will order the sub very soon.
The rest will probably come from audio concepts in Calgary. That is where I would expect that most of the tuning would be done.
I am just trying to figure out which set of components to use and at my beginner level if the DQX is necessary with the use of a good quality deck.
Thankyou for any advice in advance.

You should be able to put a nice sounding system together, that's for sure. I would take the eclipse over the alpine though )

Well, I'd try and get one of those Rockford/Denon 8250's for a deck instead. And I agree, the install is going to make or break it.

agree also. Install and setup tuning will make it work.

I have heard the most top of teh line stuff sound like cr@p, and have been blown away by entry level stuff sounding un-beliveable

I usually would not recomend a product I havnt heard but the Rockford 8000 series for sale at some of the prices I have heard is almost too good to pass up.
Buying good stuff is always a good start but a quality install is the ONLY proper finish. If you can do it yourself good on you... but the professionals may save you money in the long run.

Thanks for the support. The install is going to be very time consuming but I expect that all of my effort will work out, even if it doesn't I'll just have a shop fix it. The main thing is that I tried it and learned from it.

Are there any sq oriented decks out there with time alignment that aren't silver? (and under $1000)
