Pioneer 4900 dvd, 2004 concorde
recently shop installed a dvd player in my car, for some odd reason, i can't put the volume up past 10/12, there is so much static. as anyone encountered this situation? went back to the shop and they said my speakers were blown. now i know what blown speakers sound like, an its not even close. my concorde comes with infinity premium sound, 2 tweets, 2 6.5s,
2 6x9's.
so please help me

Infinity branded speakers... yes... true Infinity speakers you would buy aftermarket... no. You'll still have paper cones and foam surrounds.
The stock Infinity sound system is better than the stock Chrysler sound system but either way, they are both still stock. Your stereo is as strong / sounds as good as your weakest link.

^^still shouldn't have the problem he's describing. I have a 04 300m that came with the same Infinity premium system, and I've screwed around with the factory speakers enough to know that they're decent speakers. In fact I still use the stock 2.5" in the dash's center for my center channel, and I can guarantee you it handles 25-30 watts rms easily with a 200hz-24db/oct crossover...does it everyday, and has been for 2.5 years now. Assuming that your speakers aren't blown or damaged in some way, then there is some other problem. Maybe a grounded or poorly connected speaker wire that gets affected as the speaker creates more vibration? Do you still have the original deck to test them with? I'd have another shop test the speakers for a problem and then go see the original shop if there's nothing wrong with them...actually to be fair, if they're blown then you should go to the original shop also, since they weren't lying to you. How did they hook it up? Are they still powered by the factory amp? The problem may be with the hook up to the amp. The factory amp may not like the high level input. If they are using the Pioneer to power the speakers, then they may have forgotten to put passive crossovers on the tweeters as the oem system is crossed in the amplifier actively, also the speakers are 2ohm, and the Pioneer may not be able to power 2 ohm speakers. If the system was functioning properly prior to installation of the new deck, then more than likely there's an issue with the set up as they installed it. If it was fine, and suddenly started with the problem, then something has gone wrong...could be install related, or component failure.
