I have a 195rms@4ohm / 390max@4ohm amp (MONO).
225rms@4ohms / 400max@4ohms Dual voice coil sub.

I'm going to run the dual voice coil in parallel (+ to + and - to -) connecting the + from the amp to one coil and the - from the amp to the opposite coil. The ohm's is going to drop to 2.
Therefor my amp will put out 265rms@2ohms. I'm confused by what is going to happen to my sub. Is the amp power of 265rms@2ohms going to be divided into 2 so each coil gets equal power and the 225rms@4ohms is on each coil. And does the rms of my sub increase because of the decrease in ohms? THANK YOU!

When you look at a sub and it says 500RMS, this means that it takes "500 RMS" at any "ohms" (for lack of a better explanation. As for DVC, with this you just have different wiring options, and if this sub is Dual 4 ohm, then yeah you can wire it to a 2 ohm load, therefore the sub will get 265RMS. Being Dual voice coil, this wont affect how much power the sub will see.

^^ Bad explanation...time to get some sleep.
