This might sound like a dumb question, but, if I was able to hit my max spl of let's say 155 db at 55Hz on the mic, would I still hit my max spl at 55 Hz on the sensor? Or would a different frequency be different between them. The reason I ask is because a local shop has an Audiocontrol mic. If i were to use it to "tune" my system for max spl, would i get the same results with this tuning on the sensor. I already know the mic reads louder, i was just wondering about settings and whatnot, like seat position and stuff.

The new mic seems to be one or two hertz down, but I have heard of even more at high SPL.

The only way I see it is that you can not test well with the old mics.

Call me.

Typically, the AudioControl mike reads about 5 dB higher than the AudioControl sensor, and about 7 dB higher than the Term Lab sensor.

As Seege said and as most of the competitors I've spoken to have said, the sensors seem to read a higher number at about two cycles down from where the AudioControl mike reads your highest hit, depending on how hard your system hits. The seems to be greater as the number increases.

At least with this info you'll get a general reference point to work from when testing. Hope this helps.
