Talking Little brothers VW Golf

Well it's almost done.
My first install in a while.
Here is the little project which has been going on for a little while.
It does not look like much but damn it sounds great.
2 JBL's P1220II in a sealed box sound great.
The amps are ESX a 175.2 for the front end (overkill imo) and a ESX 275.2 for the subs which is perfect imo.

I installed a Phoenix Gold Bass cube and a Hifonics Plato VIII eq.
The eq is set flat until we tune it and the bass cube will probably not get used much as it sounds great without it. It's only if my brother gets hungry for some additional bass (which I don't think he will imo).
The dash pods are stuffed with old school Earthquake 4'' midranges which sound awesome.
We didn't really need tweeters yet my brother bought a JBL 6.5 with xovers and tweets so we had them so we used them.

Doors have been stuffed with JBL C608GTi MkII 6-1/2 GTi COMPONENTS which sound amazing with a flat signal, soon to be tuned.

The trunk before...

The trunk almost done, just the sides need to be done now.
New floor, new box with amp rack on the other side.

More pics to come tomorrow.

What do you guys think?
The amp rack will say it all yet I didn't get a chance to take a picture of it yet....

I made it.
It's actually a second 3/4 inch piece, it also gives the subs more stability and support.
I wanted to give the box some definition also.

It actually sounds amazing!
Very tight and hard hitting bass.
Thanks for the compliment.
We have 4'' Earthquake's in the dash and we really didn't need the tweeters in the doors yet he bought the JBL's as components so we used them.
The system is not out of the car for the winter so hopefully this up coming spring it will be back in. It's now in my basement.

The ESX amps are just wonderful amps! Clean, forgiving and accurate.

Well the amp rack and the sub box has been removed as his car has gone into storage and he does not trust where he keeps his car stored.

The dash looks stock and the deck I installed down low on the console as he had some custom gadges installed where the stereo normally goes.

I will try and get some pics of the dash.

Actually I ran a whole new mdf board the length of the door. I think it was either .75 or 1/2 inch think.. Then I carpeted it and then mounted the 6.5 to it. Then I mounted the panel to the door panel itself. Pretty simple yet affective i think.
