This week I will be installing a new Eclipse HU into my '00 Jetta... is there anything I should look out for when installing this HU ?

There is a pin on the factory harness that you must not connect to, it will be either blue or blue/white if you buy a adapter harness. If this wire is hooked up to anything and your car goes on the factory VW diagnostic computer you will blow it and your dealership will not be happy.
