Sonotube ports...

I decided to try using 8" sonotube for ports for my pair of Credence 15's. The problem i have is really annoying:
Now and then i need to use my back seat, so in order to fit my subs and still use the back seat i need to have a removable port, or at least part of the port.
I was wondering if anyone knew any ways to attach 2 pieces of sonotube together. That way i could run a shorter port while the seat is being used and pop the ends back on when i dont use the seat. It's really annoying to have to do this for one day out of the week use of the back seat. Oh well.

Wow....simple, yet effective. I cant believe i didn't even think of that.
I dont think i have ever seen anyone use sonotube for ports that i can remember. Assuming I'm not the first, but also assuming it isnt very common either. Just not sure if its because flared ports arent an option with sonotube, or if it just simply doesnt work very well.
I had originally wanted to use 8" pvc, but i couldnt find any places that sold it in small amounts. I suggested i might buy a full length of it to my wife and she nearly stabbed me with the spatula she was holding when she heard the price. So i guess using anything other than sonotube is pretty much out of the question for me. hehe

Thanks for the info Yuli

I like it better sealed, lol

this setup originally belonged to Viperoni he had it sealed, I think the box is 6 cubes, not sure, its got separate chambers for each sub, so he put in 2 5" sonotubes, he was hitting 146 db sealed on the termlab on a earthquake d2 but lost 3dbs when he added the sonotubes.
