I'm looking to get my hands on about a 50 ft length of 3/0 welding wire to be bought likely in Janurary or Feburary....Just kinda getting a feel if anyone has anything, and if so what kind of cash would be wanted...

Would like to get in the Calgary/Red Deer area if possible, but would consider shipping in of the price is right...

Yeah...I kinda think so too, but everytime I turn around I get conflicting thoughts....

My most recent input seems to be the most reliable due to a recent test session he had where he tested the very amp(s) I will be running(My little secret...would like it to stay that way too, please)

I'm still pondering the 3/0 idea as I may be running more than one amp in the not too distant future, and would rather only have to wire in the back of the car than have to rewire front to back over and over...

I will possibly be going over to Princess Auto and see what they have to offer...

By all means,Please do post if you know of a better plan and/or know of a better place for me to try...

Thanks for the thoughts and inputs...!

Princess auto has good prices on that stuff.

the current handling difference between 1/0 and 3/0 isn't that much. now 4/0 is nice...

Bah!

I got 50" 1/0 free... so maybe I shouldn't complain...

But I went to 2 local shops for ring terminals and they didn't have em... none of the guys in the 2nd shop even knew what 1/0 was

Anyway, I went into electrozad and they had them (labled as 3/0-wtf?) for $7.50 each.. luckily the guy working let me buy 2 and put the other 2 I needed 'in my pocket'..

Edit, oh ya I think a 15" run of 1/0 handles around 280amps with acceptable Vdrop... so unless you need to pull much more then that I wouldn't bother...

Princess Auto carries 1/0 and 2/0.

If you can't get it done with 2/0 you have issues

Without giving too much info away, on the subs I should be pulling about 2500 watts.....TO START!I may decide to double that in future...I will also be running about 400 watts to the front stage...

I'm thinking running 3/0 or 4/0,2 runs(one power, one ground) I'll have suitable enough to power whatever I so choose without have to continusly rewire and spend more cash...

run everything to buss bars and go from there....
