Have you ever had to opportunity to replace an old amp with a new one?
Usually mounted to the floor, or under a seat (convenient and stealth is the idea here)not too many are prompted to look "at the other side of things", by checking under the car to see if there are any gas, brake lines, or a catalytic converter, that might be punctured or create enough heat to bake an amplifier.
With today's cars too many things are crammed into place including very sensitive on-board computers that don't like the proximity of a magnetic field.
Be safe out there!! It's cheaper then higher insurance.

I have rear vents and rear floor vents in my Acura TL.. amps wouldn't work under the front seats.
Imagine installing an amp under a seat directly where the rear floor vents are.. "Why does this amp heat up so much?"...

I'll never forget that one Dukk,(who's think that their gas expansion tank goes into the roof.) but this has to do with someone else's work.

Island, I am speaking from experience, I replaced an amp for a friend, and found that a screw grazed a brake line, didn't quit pierce it, but cause enough to get it repaired.
As for the Porsche, it happenned long ago(about 12), when a customer insisted to have the tweets of a set of comps, mounted to the rear pillar on a 924, driver's side went ok, passenger side has the gas expansion tank that goes up(as I found out later) into the roof.

Forget screws, just get long strips of velco.
