Sub wiring question

I have a 1996 F-350 CrewCab. Behind the seats I am running two Alpine Type S 12" subwoofers (1223D's) (dual 2 ohm voice coil) subwoofers being fed by a JL Audio A1800 . Each of those subwoofers are in their own sealed Q-Logic box. I would like a two ohm load to use the amp at its best potential. I have wired each subwoofer to create a 4 ohm load per box.

Ie. Jumper in the middle hooking the +/- together and feed the + to the positive post on the box and the - to the negative post on the box. (literally right off the diagram provided by alpine).

My question is how do I wire coming from the boxes to the amp to achieve a 2 ohm load properly?

Can I simply do the following?...

Run one wire from the + post in box A to the positive post in box B and then run a wire from + post post A to the postive side of the amp. The run one wire from the - post in box A to the negative post in box B and then run a wire from negative post post A to the negative side of the amp.

Or would it be better to run both positive posts to a distro block/terminal strip with one entering from the amp and the other side feeding the boxes? Ie. One wire in and two wires out? (the problem I would see with this in an extra connection point)

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Matt

Update

Or can I simply run both boxes through the JL audio A-1800 and wire as it has two speaker inputs. According the manual "the two positive and two negative connections are connected in parrallel inside the amplifier". This sounds like the best option but I would just like to verify with someone that what I am doing is correct. Sorry for the noob question.

Cheers,

Matt

you can't run that setup bridged into a 2 ohm load... and you can't create a 2 ohm stereo load either unfortunately...

The amp is a mono, 2 ohm stable and yes 2 ohm final load from dual 2s is possible.

I would just run the wires from the boxes seperatly to the amp but im lazy lol, the distro block might be pretty.

Any way you choose will work.

Thanks a lot guys I appreciate it. I will probably just wire each box to the amp as I am already trying to fit both sealed sub boxes, 2 amps (Infinity 7541a - 4 channel & the JL A1800 D-Class), alpine cd changer all behind the back seats of this crew cab. Not a lot of room as the amps will not fit under the seats. I am having to mount one amp across the two boxes and the second amp on an angled amp rack from the top of the rear window down to the boxes.

Anybody else out there trying anything like this with these old trucks (1996 F-350 Crewcab). If there are I am curious where they managed to hide their amps (if running dual twelves).

Thanks again,

Cheers,

Matt

P.S. FM tuners on the Alpine iDA-X001 suck.

I've seen portions of the seat backs cut out with the amp rack mounted to the back of the seat frame... depends on how picky you are if you want to fix up the upholstery or how much you mind doing that to your truck...

Done right though... it'll be pretty trick!! You may also find a bunch of room if you get rid of some of the plastic trim panels.... in4no did that with his Explorer Sport trac install and it looked pretty decent after too...

i have a question about wiring my setup...
I have wired all of my setup and am just about to wire my subs... i have a 2008 kicker zx2500.1 rated at a 2 ohm load and two 2008 kicker 15" l7 dual 2 ohm.. i have looked up ways of wiring these and i keep getting different answers.. i want a stable 2 ohm load throughout my whole system.. it shows in the manual how to do it but to only one woofer.. i have read the most convincing one and it says i take the + from the amp and wire it to the first subs + terminal, (coil 1 or 2? im not sure) splice it and wire it to the other subs positive terminal. (coil 1 or 2 still unknown). and then on each sub run a wire from the positive terminal to the negative terminal (coil 1 or 2 still unknown) thanks if u dont get me but think you can tell me just tell me your address and ill send u a diagram of what i mean... sorry for the sloppiness

thanks gentle man... the only problem i still have with that is (according to crutchfield's diagram) i dont no whether or not i should be wiring from the amp the positive wire to the coil 1 or coil 2 on each sub... and whether the bridged wire (wire from positive to negative on same sub) is on coil 1 or coil 2. for instance... should the bridged wire be on the + terminal of coil 2 and the - terminal of coil 2. or should it be on the + terminal of coil 1 and the - terminal of coil 2. or directly from the amp, should the + terminal from the amp connect to the + terminal of coil 1 on the first sub and the + terminal of coil 1 on the second sub? or what lol im sorry if this is too easy for you guys but im just unsure.. just want to wire my setup 100% correct thanks you guys
