Anyone got experience with the "House of Kolor" metal flakes.
Doing some panels in black...the whole car is going to be gloss black, but I'd like to have the panels I made stand out a bit from the rest of the car...not too intense, but I thought those huge colour change flakes might add a cool effect, especially with the lighting scheme...black lights, a bit of neon, a few LEDs, and some strobing LEDs....should be lots to glitter I think.
Just not too sure how hard it is to apply this stuff.

All I know about it, is that you need a special gun to spray it, metal flake will jam regular guns.

Just got the flake....man they're huge!
Look like sparkles for cake decorating. I think I'll be into lots of clear coats and wet sanding.

Looks pretty good I think, for my first effort. Need a good camera to capture it. I had to bury it in 4 coats of clear, and even then there's still a few flakes sticking out. Now to wet sand, and another coat of clear, if the buff doesn't do it.
I used a good gun with a 1.7 tip, and shook the gun every pass. If I'd been putting on a thick coat of flakes, I'm sure I'd have had a problem getting it even, but I was going for an "outer space" star like effect. I'll have some good pics in a day or two.

sorry to bring back an old post, but where were you able to buy HoK paint? I'm in Toronto and I have no idea where to get it.

I got the flakes from a local body shop that had leftovers from a job....not too sure where he got em, but go to their website, and I'm sure you can find the closest distributor.
