i've got a 300 watt amplifier running on a 25amp fuse. I would like to add another amplifier to run my highs, it is 480 watts and a needs a 30amp fuse.

im gonna run a 4 guage wire to a distribution block and split to two 8 guage wires (fused at the dist. block.) anyways, my question is how big of a fuse should I use on the four guage wire?. And does this setup sound good?

Thanks,

DJXP

the fuse you use isnt it supposed to be relative to teh size of wire>? because teh fuse at teh battery end only protects yoru car not the amps?

The max. recommended fuse size for 4 awg is 125A. This fuse protects the wire and thus your car. The fuses on your amps protect your amps. www.bcae1.com.
