real bad arc

For the car audio pros only to respond.

Just today I tried to hook up my amp from being unhooked all winter until now and I got a big arc after I hooked the ground wire up. I'm running 2 batteries that the power and ground come from. There is no corrosion on the wires at all. So now I'm in aw because this never happened before. Am doing something wrong????

Does it all work?

The 'general rule' that nobody ever follows is to place a resistor between the cable and the amp to let the capacitors in the amp to charge up before hand. The same theory applies if you were just installing a capacitor to help your electrical. The only purpose is to avoid the spark. You did nothing wrong other than dirty your shorts a bit. If everything is working fine then you're golden.
