I recently bought a 98 ram 1500. The stereo seems to be functioning. The display has power, but there is no sound anywhere in the truck. New to audio and feel like learning. Help me out?

do help by providing more information. Is this a oem stock deck? aftermarket? if so what make and model? Stock speakers? Aftermarket speakears? Separate amp? Maybe there is an amp fuse that is blown?
In what mode is there no sound? AM? FM? CD? All?
why do you think it is working? can you change FM stations? If you put in a CD can you change tracks? Does it display track numbers?
is this a front left and right system only or are there rear speakers also?
What if you put the balance left and right? fade front to back?

You really don't give us much to work on. The more information you provide the easier it is for us to help troubleshoot.
The reason I ask is that on older cars the deck illumination is part of your dash illumination and is separate from deck power.

If it really is working and you still have no sound, then something is affecting all channels. Maybe its the internal power amp that is blown. Maybe it is as simple as a speaker connector common to all
