if anyone is caught cheating they will be asked to leave. that said, you can use any song, any genre, any artist, perferably on a legit cd, but burned ones are allowed.
|
this is getting getting blown outta porportion. let the cheaters come, like said above, they;ll be asked to leave.
|
the whole idea is have a score of 129.9 @ the end of 30 seconds but there's a catch, the score you see on the screen is a average over the course of 30 seconds, so a "burp" at the beginning of the song may hold a high number fo a long time, before it starts to drop, or you may crank your stereo and watch your number rise, but as you reach a high number and start turning the stereo down the score will still rise because of the "average" pressure. see how this is so much fun? winning cash doesn't hurt either, is it cash or prizes this time?

your gear doesnt make you a noob per-say rather it is if you have competed before or not that makes you a n00b. you might have all this great gear but that doesnt mean anything if you dont know how to use it....
Now a question from me.... my rear seats fold down, am I allowed to have them down for the comp? |
then I would say you qualify for the n00b challenge...

whoa whoa ok hang on, so if its the average number then there is a delay between measurements right? so after the 30 seconds it can go up? and if it does, does that number count? gosh this is confusing. i thought we just had to play loud music
but for DB Drag\Amateur challenge, crank that !!! |
after the 30 seconds in db drag or bassrace the metre stops reading and freezes the scores on the display.
for db drag it is higly suggested to use tones rather than music to achieve top spl. it is a 30 second run, but the metre only needs 2 seconds or so to read ur score. so it gives u time to switch tracks if ur unsure what is loudest, also gives u time to turn it up, this reads your single peak score, nothing else.<<YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PLAY YOUR SYSTEM FOR THE ENTIRE 30 SECONDS..YOU CAN, BUT DONT HAVE TO.>> for bassrace u need to use commercially available music, the object is to sustain a certain score so at the end of the run your exactly at the score your aiming for(the classes are 120-129.9, 130-139.9, 140-149.9, 150-159.9) !!THIS EVENT WILL ONLY HAVE 120-129.9!! so you want your score at the end of the 30 seconds to be 129.9 to have the best score possible. how you do this is up to you, weather u play ur music the whole run or u just hope ur system is loud enuf to wait a bit and then crank it real loud to try and catch up. if you go over 129.9 in qualifying it is ok, but in eleminations, you will automatically be red lighted and disqualified. i hope this clears up a little confusin and can help some of the new people who dont want to go look at the db drag website for all the rules |
Well, Bass Race is not average per say. Here is why.
It consists of two parts - Qualifying and Eliminations. In Qualifying you are trying to establish your score and position for elimination runs. In Qualifying it is really the average score taken. For example, if you are aiming for 129.9 you can be anywhere above or below that at any point before the time runs out. The number on the screen can go up and down but as long as it is 129.9 or lower when the time ends you have established your elimination spot for that round. Then, comes the Elimination rounds - this is where you go head to head against someone else. In Eliminations it is not really the average. You have to work your way UP to 129.9. If at any point durring the elimination run your score exceeds 129.9 you are done and are eliminated. So basically the number on the screen can not go up past 129.9 mark durring eliminations. One more thing to remember.Playing your sound system BEFORE the 30 second clock begins will get you eliminated. Dont press play before the time starts. |
pfffft you guys and your play buttons... I just have a pause :hah:

Do you have to start with the track at the beginning? Or can you start part way through and just hit play when the green light comes on.
