Well as in my message from yesterday we all went out to A@B sound for their first comp of the year! Sony Civic went to the comp of course and he took another first in his division with a 156 DB. And he was second in the outlaw with a 181.3 DB. Anyone in Calgary who wants a great install go to Lynal at Crowfoot Visions he is the one who did Sony Civic's car!!!!! Any Sony reps that read this please get Sony Civic a sponser he deserves to represent your product!!!!!!!!!! SONY ROCKS!! according to everyone, all of the mic's were low. on the 2nd they were apparently 8 db's low, and today they were said to be 14 db's low. so the scores posted above, were with the added db lost.

You don't have to tell everyone on this board everytime something good happens for sony subs.

It's all in the box and amp. Swap in some more expensive 10s in the same box and your score will change by little.
I could be bragging about wal mart brand subs if I had them in the perfect box with a assload of power. Whoop-Dee-do

Well the amps are sony also so it can't be all bad. I thought that this site was for us to talk about car audio... So that is what I am doing is talking about car audio. I'm sorry but it does happen to be a complete Sony System Would it make a difference if I talked about a different kind of brand like Alpine or RockFord?

Ya know....I just scanned thru what eveybody had to say here...I agree with some of it...I disagree with some of it...But fact of the matter is this....
Ollie is kicking butt!!Good for you,Man!!You have worked long and hard to get this far!!
As fas as the whole Sony thing...you have to look at it from this poing of veiw,Sony is known to most as a less superior product,so when some one like Ollie can come along and kick butt with it,I think he has a little bit of bragging rights.
People got on me about the talking about my 8 track thing...guess what???I AM KICKING *** WITH IT!!I may not win every event,but I do have the bragging rights to say that I beat Mr.Multi-Thousand Dollar system.Doesn't mean I am eny better than anybody else,I just want to be able to share the happiness of it all....no more!!

my 2nd and 3rd runs were about 2db off the calibrated scores i had last year.
my car topped at a 139.3 on a calibrated mic at audio concepts last season, my third run with the exact same set up today, was a 137somethin, so the mics were no more then about 2.5db low, so dont go estimating what u think your car "SHOULD" be running,
im not tryin to take away from your win, yea u were loudest, good on ya for it, but until u get consistent numbers on certified mics at sanctioned events (no offence to the guys at A&B today but the show was basically a joke, parts of it were fun, but i can totally see why more serious competitors dont bother with em) dont talk about 181db outlaw runs and 156db runs when u scored well under 150,
if u are gonna post a score post your ACTUAL score, and know the difference between a hot mic and a realistic one.
u lose all credibility when u start basically fabricating scores,
like i said tho, props to sonycivic on the win,
hell while im at it why dont i throw in the fact that i dusted a number of cars running more then triple the power i was, 137 on less then 250 total im happy i kept up with ricks stroker and hella more power,
(if u notice im not claimin the 141.6 i scored first run as my highest, cus theres some question about it, so lets all play nice and post legit numbers shall we?)

I am so ashamed.Good numbers though man. I wanted to see you double your 141, which I was looking forward to seeing, but figure a 137 was pretty close, I have faith in that, just hard to believe when you see a 130 spike to a 141, but it can happen... jumping from 142 to a 160 however cannot (I found that amusing)! I'm glad you put up some serious numbers with that setup, it seems to work for you... and you kicked my *** in my class.

Way to go Ollie, keep up the good work. My thoughts on the discrepencies with the mic are who cares that it is off by 8 db's or 20 db's so long as it's the same for everyone competing, and the judges shouldn't play with the settings like they did at A&B today.
