Almost ready to compete, what do I need to know?

I mean everything....what to do , not to do, how do you "compete"?
Sounds like a lotta fun...only concern I have is I don't wanna fry any of my amps, subs or my car's wiring in general just to "hit" a number.
I would appreciate everyone's ideas, comments and suggestions.....hope to be ready within two weeks or so..and there a ton of guys who surf thru here who either work for a local shop or hold an event. So you're feedback is appreciated, and you are more than welcome to email me with anything you wish to add.

First get a rule book for the sanctioning body you are interested in. Westec has a bunch for IASCA and iDBL, dB drags are on the website. Then just go to some contests, the best way to learn is by doing and talking to more experienced competitors.

trying to do a burp is your first order of business. you really should tke it into a shop and find your sweet spot and go for it. they should be able to set you up with your note, and then burp it and that note and loudness. good luck

Arc, your best bet is to goto a couple comps and look at similar cars in your class and see what their doing... and how their doing it... I should be at the cruise friday so if you have any questions let me know.. (got the deck installed yet?)

RW, I will probably pick your brain alot Friday, and yes, the deck is in. So is the power, ground, and rca wiring. Next up is finishing the deadening and making the amp rack. Subwoofers will be coming soon, and I have a cheap Pioneer to use until they show.
See you Friday...will be running a bit late due to work issues. Prob about 9 or so.
