turnout for these meets vary from time to time but you can always bet on 4-5 people this last one had over 10 people showup so we had a good turnout. As for what happenes at the meets I am most of the time just building my vehicle (too boring when you are by yourself) and I have my termlab set up for anyone that wants to test or tune. There are tools available for anyone and everyone to use and I always have MDF on hand if someone else needs to build. And even if none of that goes on its just a chance to have a bunch of poeple interested in car audio get together and talk.

There will be another one of these meets going on in the very near future and I will give more then a couple of days notice so that more people will be able to make it out.

This sounds pretty sweet. Glad it went well. Just a question, if someone wants to build, what does it cost for the wood, and use of tools etc?

I didnt make it out there because it snowed in Kitchener ... but I did put the re8 on the meter... it did 127.8 @ 27Hz sitting flat in the middle of the car facing backwards ..so about 2 feet away from the hatch and also kinda loading off of my batteries
and oh yeah...that is powered by a Planet Audio 602 vortex amp ...bridged @8 ohms..so aprox 60 watts MAX power not RMS...birth certificate lists the amp at 122.8 watts @ 4 ohms bridged

Those little 8's are very impressive for how low they go for there size. be nice to see some installed into a regular cab explorer / s-10 just for the low hz's..

For wood its the cost at Home Depot or Rona which ever one I go to to pick up the wood. as for tools everyone can use them for free may be a couple of bucks if screws or brad nails are used.

127.8 isnt bad..but I am a bit dissapointed...I could swear by the sound of it ..it would be over 130 dB... I will play with that a bit more still I will force tune it to the resonance of the vehicle but with a transmission line that will be really interesting... as if it works Chris may be selling me a few more of those re8's...lol I did a couple designs..and I could actually physically run 1200 watts into them, but not sure if it will havdle it thermally or in real world applications...that is just in a computer model... gotta try it with the Mmats d3000.1... hey Chris..will you warranty that one ? heheh j/k

Sweet, maybe I'll come up and build a box. It gets boring doing it by myself LOL.

Next test and tune be sure to post it hehe. I just did some work with Chris B today. Basically I accomplished minus .3 db's lol.
