For any Ontarians out there (310k/AEAT question)

I'm a graduate of Mobile Dynamics and since their closing, have been eligible for to write my 310k, here the issue, the only testing site I knew of was Mobile.

Anyone have any clue if the testing is still requiredm and if so, where I'd have to go.

Thanks in advance!

310k? Is that the certificate to do stereo systems and what not? If so could you possibly pm me on how you got all the stuff (up to this point) and what you need to do?

Yes, that is the purpose of the AEAT. My problem is that everything I did was through Mobile Dynamics, and they've since closed. Though I have heard that you could send out for the MECP book and tests to get that certification, you still need the 310k/AEAT to install in Ontario.

You need to go to the apprentiship office near you.
You need to show proof of hours and register.
But they can walk you through the process.

Its not a test you can walk in off the street and write.
It is a restricted trade, you have to have worked under someone with their AEAT.

Here is the link for the MTCU
Just go to the one nearest you.

Hope that helps

Thanks man. I have worked under someone with their AEAT for the last three years, so I'm not too worried about that. The test might be a little daunting though, as I haven't cracked a textbook since I left the school.

If you've been doing it while, you shouldn't have much of a problem.
There's really nothing in terms of a study guide or textbook.
Its more of an applied knowledge, hence needing to have been doing it.
