Anyone going to PW?
The last place I ran into that many Camaro's and Firebirds I THINK ... was Importfest? I can't remember, but it was a car show in 09 ...
To be honest, those shows are probably the ones that GOT me interested in this SPL/SQ scene today ...
But I have to agree, without even going in the past few years, it looks as if a lot has changed ... so, I'm looking forward to something decent in the next few weeks.
Okay then I'm talking to the right person ...
So, you may or may not be able to answer this question here, but my Dad was talking to someone at one of the shows ... since he was talking, I was only half listening (unfortunately, since I have the memory rather than HIM) ...
Anyways, we have 86 Trans Am (Automatic) and one of the members was mentioning something about the body of the car in the back (I believe) talking about how there was such and such a serial number that were better compared to such and such a number ...
Though I HIGHLY doubt it, I don't want my father to have some sort of secret jem and for me not to know it ...
So, any help on what the heck I'm trying to describe here?

OR
He might be saying that fbody's assembled in Caifornia were better built than the ones in Ohio. The Ohio plant closed in I think 88 or so and the cars from that plant had a lot more quality issues than the ones from Van Nuys California. The only way to tell is a letter in the serial number which tells you where the car was made.
If your dad's TA was bought in Canada, you can get a package from GM which tells you the complete history of the car, including which delaer the car was sent to, all RPO codes, build date, etc. It's a good thing to have if you plan on keeping the car.
The car was purchased used many, many years ago ... its outlived many cars we've had and its still here, kicking around.
For the past while, it's been sitting because of this and that repair but for whatever reason, we haven't jumped on either fixing it or parting away with it ... so it sits.
He runs it, drives it around to keep it going but it's not getting the use it SHOULD have (as of now).
But for curiousity sake, those are things I'm going to look into when I have a chance, since they sound like they're readily accessible.
Thanks for the info
