I think we may be blowing things out of proportion a bit as Dave said... I think we'll get all the details of these ideas laid out when and if they come to be. But, for the time being, we should concentrate on coming up with ideas in general that would be of benefit to the organization, and not shoot them down when someone offers a suggestion. Baby steps first...
Tom, somehow I can't picture you kissing a big purple dinosaur...

"Cheating" is a terrible word. I like "creative rule interpretation" myself. I have mixed emotions about IASCA being absent from Audio Thunder. But, I am too hung over to put those thoughts on here. I will say I am not surprised. It makes no sense financially for those footing the bill. Those that are passionate about competing in IASCA need to take a step back and remember that money makes the world go round. I see IASCA making positive strides forward. Turning from non-profit to a profit organization was the best move by far. The successes of dBDrag and USAC in the past can attest that. But IASCA and there supporters need to realize that new ownership or not, the IASCA brand name has crapped on a lot of competitors, store owners, installers, judges etc., and those wounds are not easily forgotten. Keep up the good work though. A year ago I would never have entertained the idea of competing in, or hosting an IASCA event ever. This year may be a time of change.
Matt, that's good news to be hearing from you. And I agree about the old wounds. That's going to be a tough challenge but I think it can be overcome with some time and hard work from IASCA.
I do believe once IASCA here in Canada gets some of the bigger people back on side with the new program, things will fall in place with everyone else. I think there has been and still will be people sitting on the sidelines watching to see how things go, to ensure it's not the same old garbage of years gone by. Once they realize that IASCA is dead serious, has a solid and proven program, including the support to make it happen AND can add value to a retailer's program, people will believe once again as they did in the good ole days. And then it gets interesting and exciting

But since the airspace has been closed in Las Vegas, only way to get there is via donkey.

Matt, that is great news to hear you say that... and by the way, good luck to you and your teammates at the Installer Challenge !
I personally, as many of you already know, will do whatever it takes to ensure IASCA's growth in Canada. Many of the new announcements that will be coming at CES will hopefully show anyone who's sitting on the sidelines that IASCA is truly working for everyone involved with them; competitor, retailer and manufacturer; and I will be working to see that the message gets to competitors, retailers, manufacturers and distributors in Canada. So if anyone has any questions, feel free to call or email me, I'd be only more than happy to answer them.
