best bang for buck battery
best bang for buck battery
so i was upgrading the big three in my new 1999 jimmy 4X4 and my friend overtightens the negative terminal and it strips.
i'm planning on running a pair of ED nine.1's to a pair of RE SX/Fi Reconed 12's (.7 ohm flatwound coils, triple stiff spiders and heavier leads)
got a pair of 1/0 knukonceptz kollossus wire that will be run into the rear and i'd like to run a pair of matching batteries (1 front 1 rear).
i don't want to spend a ton, but i'd like a pair of nice reliable sealed batteries.
i've heard polar batteries are reasonably priced, but i'm not sure if they're sealed...
also, i live in Coquitlam. Thanks in advance
Ryan

thanks guys. i'll check out canadian tire and walmart first. the crappy part is that i'm headed to australia on the 30th untill the 20th and i cant afford to spend much money until after then... it's going to suck having no car. it's also going to suck to have my SX's arrive the day before i leave
just wondering, is there any problem wiring the batteries directly together? they'll be bought at the same time and the exact same battery...
i'll obviously take proper care fusing my wires, but should i run an isolator?

thanks for the info, i was under the impression that they might try to charge eachother sending current back and forth and shorten the life of the batts.
just wondering, say i wanted to compete... what class would be best for me?
2 12"s (RE audio SX's with Fi recones) under the window line, 2 amps (2 NINe.1's around 2300wrms) 1 batt under hood and one in the back possibly a high output alt
i've never competed, but the equipment i've got is decent... how hard would it be to be atleast semi competitive?

In DBDrag you would be street B with that equipment and a single battery, but the 2nd battery would bump you up to street C. As for what it'd take to be competitive, you'd probably need a 153 or so to be near/at the top here in Canada.
