Brandon & TJ Died This Sunday Going to a Car Show
Friend's of my gf (brandon & TJ) died yesterday by a semi tractor (don't ask) going to a car show in langley. These guys were at a competition last october (the late late show). I remember who they were, it's just a tragedy that they died going to a car show and most likely the Team Shadow show (since it was in Langley).
Does anyone else remember them? (I just found out about this now)
Incidently yesterday a friend of mine saw someone die in a car accident just 5 minutes away from my house on lougheed and holdem. Apparently two cars (mercedes and viper) were racing and the viper lost control, spun out crashed over a median and hit three on coming cars. Viper's driver died instantly (my friend could see his snapped head and the blood everywhere). One other driver couldn't walk, another had to be dragged out and other one was fine. Guy in the mercedes took off. My friend was the first car behind them (maybe 30 feet away when it happened).
Yesterday just seems to have been a bad day for a lot of people.

no branden had the white b2200 with the mustang 5L in it. he had 2 RE 8s in the back last year and i was working on a single 12 RE SX setup for him in the upcoming weeks. he just got his truck out of paint last weekend. I never met T.J. though.
Branden was hoping to get really loud this year and was even thinking about going to iasca finals.
They were on their way to Team Shadows show in surrey and didnt make it.
I've since heard the driver of the semi truck ran a red light to hit them.
I wont post pics of Brandens truck but its one of the worse accidents ive ever seen. The whole body was ripped right off the frame of the truck.
RIP Branden and TJ
bensta has stickers that say RIP Branden Gertsch on them in black and copper if anyone wants them for their ride.

It's a tragedy what happened, both were so young. I had only met them at the show at CEM Autosport in December, but I was still shaken when I heard the news. Regardless of how well we knew or didn't know him, as a competitor in the SPL community, he's still a friend to all of us. On behalf of Team Shadow I ask that your thoughts and prayers go out to Branden & TJ and their families.
As for the guy in the Viper, I suspect him to be the same guy who competed at Tim Baillie's show last year. I will have to verify the names, but it sounds like they could be one and the same.
- Ryan from WCES.

I've got 16 decals that say RIP B.G. if anyone would like one, i think it would be appreciated if everyone asked for atleast 1, showing respect, as he died coming to a competition where i knew hed kick my ***!
RIP Branden and TJ, i've made a thread in donut house too

That is a site where Ryan from Westcoast Exetreme SPL has setup a online donation
all donation funds will be for flowers for his direct family and his girlfriend.
Also donations will be used to pay for decals that say RIP T.J. and RIP B.G.
Any amount is greatly appreciated.

it sucks when things like that happen. tj was a friends friend(totally unrelated to car audio) and i heard about it today at work. apparantly it took 5 hours to get the car apart from the semi. i can't imagine what that must've been like for their parents.

Local SPL'er and Iasca Member, Brandon Gertsch and his friend TJ were involved in a vehicular accident in the streets of lowermainland BC, Canada. Both were hit by a semi that ran a red light and sadly both thier lives were taken. These guys were young and excited about competing. they were one thier way to support a local show.
From everyone at Team Shadow Extreme SPL and everyone at West Coast Extreme SPL , we send out our prayers and condolenses to Brandon's family and friends. We are deeply saddened to hear the news of his passing and we feel horrible to learn that he was in route to our show. We can only ask everyone out there to drive carefully and be safe. I always say that you should support your local shows and that was exactly what Brandon's was doing. Now it is time for us to show support to him. We have set up an donations area on our website to help support his family just like Branden was supporting us. All donation will go to the family of both SPL'ers
www.teamshadowspl.com to donate.

Thanks to everyone for getting us the info. I strongly urge all SPL'ers to come out and support the Gertsch clan at thier time of grieving.
Lets all be safe....
