I have a buddy that owns not two, but three shops in across Ontario. All three locations present logistical problems. Other stores in the strip plazas wont allow an event due to limited parking spots (taking up parking). They fear burping cars will scare away their current clientel. Not to mention the isurance issues from the property owners.

Sounds to me like some people need to get laid every now and again (but thats my opinion and these other stores probably don't want such advice)

For those that have delt with these types of issues, how'd you work around them? He's been thinking DBdrag or Iasca sanctioned events.

He doesn't want to rent a fair ground location he said lol

He could speak to another business that might also benefit from the extra people.

A restaurant would work because people from the show would go there to eat.

A night club also works because then you use their lot for the day (when it's empty) and people will stick around to go hang out.

These 2 are just off the top of my head.. I'm sure others can come up with something.

Have you tried to rent a fairground Chris? Be prepared to pay! Insurance and permits and rental fees... better charge spectators.

Of coarse I havent. But then again I also do not own a shop.

I know it's obviously costly, but putting on a show is costly.

Advertising is expensive these days!

Lets face it, Even using his parking lots (if he could) he'll be lucky to break even, no? He can write it off on his taxes as a source of marketing perhaps???

Nobody has run into this in the past? Not every shop can host shows it appears to me.

Not good for the industry eh?

Don't you need permissions? What if something gets damaged or someone gets hurt? We kinda thought about this, but wondered about legal issues.

Aren't they going to wonder what the hell, when all of a sudden one day there's a buch of cars + hopfully people there. If he sponsors it, Couldn't he get sued?
