Goal: LOUD
Class: SS1-2
Car: 1995 Ford Escort 2dr HB

I will be bringing you all. As much info and pictures as I can over the coming 2 months leading up to the 3X in May.

This is my 1st serious SPL build so I am still learning as hopefully you all will be too.

The car will be a daily driver, but with a little luck and skill hopefully I can be as loud as some of people and cars that I have seen and talked to.

Well Rowan just looks confused...

We still have to dig the wagon out of the snow bank at Rowans place. But we are probably gonna start are new build soon.

How the hell are you gonna use that escort as a daily driver? The Aries is a bigger car and it had suspension and brake issues, not to mention a lack of power. (EVEN THOUGH IT HAS A RE-BUILT MOTOR AND TRANS.) I couldn't imagine your SPLcort (SPL escort)as a daily driver, just call me closed minded.

Good luck with the system as well as whatever automotive upgrades you have planned.

i don't think you will be as competitive as you want to be with out putting some serious weight in there first (concrete and MDF adds up pretty quick).....i guess we will see :cool:

My escort will take it! I still had lots of getup and go last year with 2 batts and my wall.
Infact I left a nice long burnout strip at FX audio in the Groove one day when me and ___(Ray's brother) were playing. :eek:

Check these specs off carpoint.com:

Aries Wagon Escort GT
Standard Engine 2.2L I4 1.8L I4
Horsepower 93 127
Torque (lb-ft) 122 114

I am assuming you have the GT as well. If not...
Escort Base
Standard Engine 1.9L I4
Horsepower 88
Torque (lb-ft) 108

With less (rated) hp, but more torque I think the aries would still out pull your escort GT.

Beside the wagon is running a 2.5L ECU (the car was born a 2.5) on the 2.2 with an aftermarket air intake.I know you have an intake too, but this could possibly net more (perhaps less) horsepower???

I have intake, exhaust and TB mods.

Whats the weigh on the 2 cars? I'm not sure. I would guess that yours weighs more. I do not power anything or AC so that would also help.

Today I had to work my 3rd job. I nuild jigs and brackets and such for a destructive testing company.

Such as this unit with a 4" nut and 2 2" rods welded to it. Must and did carry 250 000lb load (twice :eek: ).
