Does anyone know of any other shows in BC?

How about any shows in Alberta? In particular Calgary or gulp... maybe even Edmonton. There are some top dealers in these cities but they seem uninterested in doing any shows?...

Dukk 03-29-2012 02:43 PM

^ So go into those dealers and ask WTF?

stochastic 03-30-2012 07:46 PM

Is there a central place for these shows to be found on one schedule?

Is this going to be sq oriented? I have never been to any car audio shows yet so I was actually considering heading down to this one. Bob is a cool dude too nonetheless. My setup is pretty much done now. By your sig, having 8s in your door, I would be VERY interested in hearing that. That is something I have been considering doing when I get some more cash that is.

audio1der 05-27-2012 04:46 PM

I have no idea; it's simply the only event close enough for me to attend.
I'm going to clean the 8's up tonight; still playing with enclosure volume, polyfill & bandpass vs. highpass x-over.
Once that's all done I can worry about aesthetics...

If you're going to make it, pm me for my cel# so we can make sure we hook up as I will only be there for a couple hours.

I tried calling Bob today but only got his machine. He said he would be in and out all week. I am starting to wonder if there is even going to be a show in Lethbridge on the 16th tho as it has been removed from the other thread's listing on this site. I really hope there is still something going for this. It would be cool to at least hear your vehicle anyways. Where are you located anyways? I am in Calgary so it a bit of a drive for me too.

AND... are any of these shows actually going to have any sq in them or are they all spl like always? There has got to be a way to hear some well setup sound quality vehicles around here somewhere, right? Other than my own that is:)

james2266 06-02-2012 08:07 PM

For that matter, is there anyone in south Alberta or western BC that is actually running any of the following brands: HAT, Morel, Dynaudio, TRU, Mosconi, hi end Pioneer, hi end Alpine, Sinfoni, Zapco, Focal. Ok, pretty much anything but Audison/Hertz as I have heard pretty much the best offerings from those companies. Ok, maybe hearing a nice VRX Audison would be cool. Anyways, PM me and maybe I can get a listen. I am not really expecting anything here so any offers I get will be surprising and well appreciated. Maybe I have some stuff others would love to hear too.

luke99 06-05-2012 11:10 PM

if u want sq your going to want to make the trip to the western canadian finals in august in coquitlam , soundsgood auto puts that on and they are a sq based shop , they carry dd , hybrid audio , alpine , pioneer , compustar , arc audio , relm

I sell and install HAT, high end Pioneer, Mosconi, JL Audio and am thinking of the Morel line up as an alternative for the Focal that I said no to this year.

You can see all of these phenomenal products in vehicles at my June 17th SQC, IQC, Bass Boxing & idbl show. It starts at 9:00...

Sounds awesome to me and where would you be located? What is your shop's name too? If it isn't that far away, you can probably count me in for at least a visit.

That's a 13 hour drive both ways for me. Too far to make on a weekend trip. Wish you were closer or even better you guys can expand into Calgary? I can wish right? I'll have to see if I can find a way to get out there for finals maybe. Don't know if I can get time off work tho.

leagumdrops 06-14-2012 04:51 AM

see everyone at soundsgood on sunday!!

Some of these shows out here would be well worth the drive, and it's only about 10 hours each way if you do it right lol :cheeky4: ... The problem with Calgary, is that even when lots of effort is put into putting on a show, there is always little to no turnout, especially for SQ it seems.

James, do what you can to make it out to one of the bigger shows in BC this year, it'd be well worth the trip.

james2266 06-14-2012 09:22 PM

And what are 'One of the bigger shows in BC this year'? Are they all in the Vancouver area? I am planning on heading out to the Creston one later in this summer but not sure if this will be one of the bigger events this year? I'd also like to know how you get from Calgary to Vancouver in 10 hours... Kinda a leadfoot do we have? To quote Yoda:smokin:

Was looking at your sig and see you have an Ultimo as well. What are you powering it with? Does it give enough impact for your liking? I would actually like to know everything about your build if you don't mind? You can PM me that info if you like so as to not derail this thread too much.

luke99 06-16-2012 02:43 AM

as stated above the western finals will be the biggest show in our area

Dukk 06-16-2012 12:52 PM

I make Abbotsford to Calgary in 10hrs and that's with the wife and kids :dunno:

Extra speed & fuel economy with the woofers firing backward no doubt!

james2266 06-19-2012 06:47 AM

Well, I haven't done that trip in a number of years but I remember it still taking roughly 12 hours if I recall. It has been a while however.

Bill@wa 06-19-2012 10:54 AM

Hey guys,
The great thing about the Creston show, is it's the last show of the year -usually and only 6 hours from Calgary (driving the speed limit, from Downtown cowtown), and 8 hours from Vancouver again driving the speed limit. So all the Alberta guys and BC guys can show up and see who is the loudest Province. BTW Liquid audio had a couple of SQ guys last year, I must admitt, These cars were awsome (a notch above what I've seen in BC

james2266 06-19-2012 07:06 PM

I sure hope you are right about that. I know if I am able to get there (ie. work not getting in way), I will be there. It might be the only show I get out to so lets make it a good showing of sq vehicles!

Lunchbox12 06-19-2012 07:16 PM

If it's treated as a "go between" show with cars from areas Calgary/Edmonton and Vancouver...it looks like it could shape up to be a really competitive one!

Bill@wa 06-19-2012 07:34 PM

This is our 5th annual, and usually brings 20 competitors. Last year we only had three SQ, so not hard to judge. If we get what we did in 2009 we had up to 10 guys in sq, and the sound judging was done by a musician (I think it was the fairest, for he had no idea what a clean install should be), and Steve (deaftraps) did the install part, and had a listen to give the other judge an idea what he was listening to. All in all very fair, and Dan at Andre's Cranbrook won 1st prize that year, BTW it sounded sweet and the install was top notch, although based on looks, I know there are some awsome rides out there. There is a car show as well that brings out over 100 cars, and we are part of the show, so when your not pounding you can look at all the cool rides.

IT Hz 06-19-2012 07:41 PM

I hope to god I can make it out for your show Bill, I just got my cage welded into the car for my setup so she's time to start building yet again LOL

dmoneyspl 06-21-2012 04:22 PM

Its a good thing I called into soundsgood befor just heading down on the 24th because this calendar is incorrect! Is there any way to get an accurate list of comp dates?? I have been wanting to come out and compete for a while now but cannot get any accurate dates. Seen a couple rides from team western insanity rollin aroun locally so I know that there are comps going on .... Help? Anyone from TWI know what's up?? Msg me please

luke99 06-21-2012 04:29 PM
