DB Drag -- Aug 20th Kelowna 21st Kamloops
#3
Thanks for showing up Dave... nice dog!
I don't understand why none of the lower mainland boys didn't show.... they cry all year about no shows, so I arrange two in 2 days and they still don't show -- Kamloops is a 3 hour drive (if you are slow).
Well... I'm retired from judging now... let's see who does them next year...

By the way...
Both shows went well, were done early and the 1st and 2nd place finishers received trophies!!! I have to say, the guys from the Okanogian and Cariboo were very supportive -- many went to both shows!!1
Also, I think Visions has to be thanked for the fact that they did 4 shows in BC this year!!! In a year when very few others were willing to step up to the plate... Visions did -- the only exceptions being Car Rox and Vernon Autosound Plus.

To all the Lower Mainland guys that whine about not enough shows......
I missed 1 DBDrag in BC this year and it was due to timing. I was in Burnaby on the 12th but was unable to stay overnight for the Aug 13th show in Langley.
BTW I live in Prince George and attended the bulk of the shows on my regular days off form my full-time job.
It can be done if your insane enough.....
P.S.
Alot of thanks go out to Mike for all his hard work and volunteered time to bring these shows all over the province.
It's appreciated and I regret not buying you a couple pints of Guiness when I had the chance to at Earls. I wasn't thinking to good. Alot on my plate this last week.
We will miss you at DBDrag next year

glad the shows went well, i might have come, but my car needs some work over the winter before she goes on anymore out of town drives. Next year i look forward to going to many more shows

An unreliable car for travelling is a good excuse.
I saw many stranded motorists in my travels this year and it would definatley suck hind tit for a competitor to break down and potentially have to leave their car on the side of the road to go in search of assistance.

what, a show in kamloops and kelowna, when where,, mike never told me. Just Kidding. Thanks Mike for making shows happen. We couldnt make it down cause we are still prepping for the calgary show. We had to make a decision for kamloops kelowna or calgary. Calgary fortunately won the coin toss. It is twice as costly this year to do all shows. Budget has gone up since a second car is involved. But im sure that well convince you to do a show hear and there.

i do not think so much being stranded, but rather flames shooting from the car at the top of the coquihala. That $500 tow fee is all bad. are you coming to calgary on the 29th?

I would really like to go but I used up all my holidays attending Vernon, Kamloops, Kelowna and just missing Langley.
The store manager thinks it's a waste of my time and money to travel to these shows and sees no plus side for me. It's hard to convince him.
On top of that it's about 13-15 hours for me to drive and since I work on commision and I have missed almost the whole month (Aug6-24th) I am expecting around $300 for the next 2 pay periods total.
I don't know how competitve I will be at that show although it's the experience I crave more than anything. I have increased my score from 133.7 in Surrey to a consistent 138.8 and one time peak of 139.5 with no changes to equipment or enclosure. Strictly tuning. The only change is that I blew a VC at Andre's big show this summer and I am still doing well. You must remember my 9 consecutive runs under the tent when we were having technical difficulties with the mic. The 8th run cooked the VC but I still tried again.
I have punched a shall hole in the cone at the beginning of the season when the sub hit the solobaric grille and cooked a coil in the first 1/3rd of the season and that sub is still going. It still hits well and sounds good. I am doing very well in USACi this year and have officially been bitten by the SQ bug. I think the truck will be SQ next year and the Civic will get SPL duties.
