our sq shows are judged by a unique set of rules......its out of 100 points.....5 for install, 50 for tonality and 45 for imaging and staging.....this format ensures the best sounding car wins, not the prettiest or the one with an amazing install......we always have best in show install at our shows so that the pretty one that sounds bad can still leave with some hardware......some of the nicest sounding cars i judged last year had very basic installs and some of the worst had far more elaborate and prettier installs.......im really looking forward to our shows this year.....i know a few people are building some great cars and cant wait to see and hear them

tonailty plays the biggest role(half the points)....im looking for the instruments to sound proper....piano a piano and so on, imo opinion this is the hardest thing to achieve in car audio which is why it gets the most points....for instance in crossroads i listen fot the drums to sound proper, i play the drums so i am very familiar with the way they should sound......image and stage i listen for specific cues and placement is the various songs.....i have listened to all of these songs on many great reference systems......i have seen a ton of live acoustic shows and am lucky enough to have a music store just a few doors away so it easy to refresh a reference of a piano and horn instruments.....reference is important....the most important
didnt you use to use a Tool song to judge aswell?

i listen to lateralus by tool more for fun than anything, its not a part of points for judging, although i have thought of adding 10 points as a "fun" section.....if the stereo is fun to listen to then it gets good points......some systems just arent very fun to listen too....the reason i havent is because i think it would take away from the overall idea of the best sounding car winning.......i have changed a couple tracks from 2 years ago but thats normal.....if it stayed the same for ever it would become stale.......
im going to be coming to as many shows this years as possible i got the system that will take me to the top just need the shows and events calender im a rookie but im good i hope to see whats to offer here in bc for i am from guelph ontario and i did very well there lets try the west coast i did five last year here in bc and took top three every show lets see what happens
