I thought that any street stock class, only requires 1 battery in a stock location??? Have the rules changed on this???

bjohnstone23 04-28-2011 09:43 PM

street stock b is 2 batteries no more then 2000 watts rms cant be a pro or veteran

bjohnstone23 04-28-2011 09:55 PM

I donno if its ok to do so but here is the link to the classifications page.

Competitors in the Street Stock A class are limited to a single 800 cubic inch (13110 cubic cm) or smaller battery. Competitors in the Street Stock B class are limited to a maximum of two each 800 cubic inch (13110 cubic cm) or smaller batteries.

Your right Brian....
although it is almost like it is a typo...The Street Stock divsion was originally set up as first year of competition catagory, for those who want to get there feat wet. It was intended for box store stuff, you know stamped basket and basic amps (no "cheater" amps (man I hate that term!)) etc etc... and if you look at all the other catagories above and below Street Stock B it is one battery???? It makes no sense. Can I get a ruling on this one.

bjohnstone23 04-28-2011 10:13 PM

I dont think there typos there purple on the page of 2011 rules so i gather that means they were added this year. Makes sense some people rather use a second battery instead of a capacitor as they cost about the same.

Bill@wa 04-28-2011 10:22 PM

I started a new thread on this one, I think it needs discussion? lets post there?

bjohnstone23 04-28-2011 10:26 PM

I agree with them saying "Pro - Anyone who is employed in the auto sound industry. Anyone who is sponsored by someone in the auto sound industry. Anyone who is related to someone in the auto sound industry. Anyone who has competed as a pro in the past."

Now i dont have to compete strictly against guys with huge rank stereos and me get tooled or have to choose a class where no one else is. Instead i will compete a class where there will be solid competition and making it worth my $50.

Bill@wa 04-28-2011 10:48 PM

I agree Brian,
I really want you guys to have fun....And I do like the Street Stock Divsion. I do however put you in a different catagory than the new-bee...I respect you as a competitor, and you have nothing to be ashamed of if you don't go home with a trophy. You play hard, and love the sport, this my friend is more admirable than a trophy!
