there are plenty of shows being planned around toronto. i know of atleast 10. the biggest problem, as always, is to get people to come to these shows.

as one of the guys that got blown away my first comp last year, i still had alot of fun, there were some really friendly guys there, the bbq was awsome. Thanks to yuli for letting me know about it. I never bothered competing before last summer, i only competed 2 times, but both times i had fun, even tho i did lose the first. I came back wanting more, changed up my gear a bit, and did very well in my 2nd and last comp of last year. The second pretty much hooked me for life as i took 1st in my class lol. I think getting ads out on the radio like 88.1 and 102.1 would be a great way to get the word out in the city. The problem is the ppl that get discouraged when they get beat. My buddy was like that when he attended his first show which was the same as my first. He got beat pretty bad and was pretty down about it. Its all about the atmosphere. He felt outta place not knowing anyone, I know yuli so i was more comfortable. I think its important for the hardcore guys to make the newbies feel comfortable and welcome. I know if yuli wasnt around for me i prolly wouldnt have bothered going. btw PROPS to yuli for his welcoming attitude. That guy really is a great dude. If everyone was as open and honest and friendly as he is the scene would really be huge i beleive.

My name is Justin Fairgrieve. I used to help our Frank at 20hz Audio, worked at the brampton Future shop for a bit but couldn't take it there, anyway ben out of the SPL scene for a few years but want back in.

what little things that may help... you buy stuff from an audio shop? you know of a show elsewhere in the region? tell the shop you buy from about the show! maybe mention it to put up a small flyer that there is an SPL show
if there is no competition between shops then how can you spark interest in the sport anyways

I have a feeling that 2006 will be a good year for SPL in Canada
