but what is the solo x... the kicker sub god... it is the best sub they make...
now on the other hand what is the best sub mtx makes... the jack fuggin hammer... im prettu sure who would win that spl battle.

Sounds like you base your argument pretty heavily on the MTX - Volume Displacement Thing...

I'm not sure how well it holds up exactly.... If you do a search you'll find a post from Yuli... using that calculator he "found" that one jackhammer would supposedly be louder than something like TWELVE of those kicker 18" solo-x's...

Just some food for thought.

lol well not totally... i have seen what the jackhammer can do and i have been in a car with a round sub and in a car with a kicker... kicker is not the be all and end all of car audio... thats just my personal opinion... it is really tough to compair an 18 to a 15 and a square sub to a round sub... they are just too different.

also on another note 6 15 inch l7's equal a jackhammer according to that chart...true their method is scientific but you need facts to back it up i guess... like accurate measurements lol

Yeah... that's what I'm saying. The whole method they use is sort of bizarre, and may sound like it could even be feasible, but obviously doesnt really make sense in a real world application... such as 12 of those solo-x 18's against a single jackhammer... If you could find a way to fit 12 of those things into a vehicle, it would obviously be pretty one-sided (contrary to what MTX's calculator seems to think).

it could be truthful... but truth is nothing without the proper facts... like 6 12 inch L7's have more displacement then 12 solo x 18's thats messed right there

in theory the jackhammer should be louder just because it has a larger cone... but i guess its just to big... and i guess it would be hard to make the correct size box for somthing that big in a car...

Any suggestions on a good shop for installations in the Edmonton area?
