What did you like? What didnt you like? Any suggestions for the future?

Off the top of my head, the ones I remeber are:

The A Team - 150.0
The C Team - 150.9
Team Riprock 2 - 159.1
Rob V.o. - 152.4

There was quite a big turn out, and I will post results asap, but at the moment I am way to tired to do it after barely sleeping in the last 2 days

oh geez it was so fun for my first show i will do this again.
when is the next show at fx audio?
i still can believe the guy in the cavi running the sundown amps, man i sat in that car and it was crazy. :thumbsup:

He did 139.1, I know cause he found a setting last minute on his HU to break the 138.2 tie we were holding against each other.

Not enough DD, and what does FAPA mean??

Its just a word/name we made up, and is a joke among the ones who go back amongst the friends.

I gotta say, the A-team music was badass... Made me laugh my ass off everytime I heard it...

I was very impressed by Robs rex, not only did it spank the piss out of us, but those boxes looked ****ing sick!

rob did a good job. took 8 years to break a 150.. he should be louder at castlegar. we got a few more ideas to try out :)

Nope. Rob broke the 50 mark last year at western finals.
And I'm looking forward to the "ideas" that the twins mentioned. I have a feeling that VO's rex will only get much louder....

im not a very big fan of sundown considering all the huge claims they've made and havent put up any half decent numbers yet.

What numbers you looking for for a 1500Watt amp? What are you looking to see?

if 1500rms cant do 170 its junnk...:dunno:

This argument has been held a few times in a few places around here, it's sort of beating a dead horse... to each their own.

scores that match the power numbers they claim.

seems like in their "tests" they put out a ton of power but then on the sensor their scores are very mediocre and they just become another 1500 watt amp.

I'm of the opinion that 1500W RMS = 150 min. At least mid 40's.

I had an SQ system in my Daytona. One 250W RMS amp bridged into a 10+ year old Alpine 15" SQ sub in a 2.8 cu. ft. ported box. I was able to hit 139 at an IASCA show with that setup. I shake my head when I see sub-140s these days on 'SPL' systems with over 1000 watts. Somethings not right with the gear or the setup.

IASCA is metered different than db drag, i bet that stereo would be doing low 30s on a termlab.

Funny that you say that whent he rex that was at the dbdrag ran a 152 with 6kwatts...

And no, our systems was horribly put together...we need new box, more copper, testing on tl...

exactly my point. See how much easier it is to claim a 1500 watt amp puts out 3000+ than it is to get loud with it as if it were a 3000 watt amp.

I dont know of any 1500 watt amps that put out over 3kwatts...

If you are talking about me, I have 2 1500 watts amps strapped...

And I know it can do better when i am not using a prefab box and have more then 1 run of 4GA wire...

doubling your power wire will gain you .2db at the most, which would put you at a 140.0

what are you running for subs?

4 g wire. Boy I wish I could get away that ( the Mini does). The explorer has 8 runs of 1 and the power wheels has 4. Tha microwave won't even burp unless it has 4 runs pluged in. Your right the pre fab probably has to go too.

I would be willing to bet by more, It is not easy to pull 3k watts off of 4GA wire...

Subs are Clif designs CD120C.

I also need new box asap...

Honestly, its not very easy to pull off when using sundrounz on a single 12V battery, maybe on a few 16V batts they could do 3K

I tested z1's to do about 5300 Real world watts on a single optima group 31, battery dropping to 11V, amps strapped at .375 ohms

And I believe that was in your Explorer before it busted. 8 runs of 1 g too at 12v!

hell i drove up fri night through the snow storm got in 4am sat. morning. went to west ed, mall drank at hooters, and couldnt find the damn sound off.. soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo........... at 3.30pm i desided to go to the mall and abuse the water slides..... left monday at 10am and got back into chilliwack at 12.30am and missed everything f#$@ oh well nice scenery.

Yep, when I change some stuff, In a new vehicle I hope to max out the clamp meter at 600A with the z1's

they claimed 5415 watts strapped at 0.35 off of a single battery i think it was. Which is more power than Kyle was getting out of his z1s

I highly doubt that my actual SPL would have been low 30s on the Termlab. I know what low 30's sounds and feels like. And I realize the two org's are metered different. Whatever makes you feel better though.

yup. loud to the ear and loud to the meter can be two very different things.

Congrats to all on your scores. This year looks like it will be very intresting in the street classes great East vs West rivalary.

The bashing continues. The tests are done by third party people. And come from good sources. As Jacob said. One will be sent to Haunz to test. That 5145wrms was 2 on a 16volt system I believe at .35ohms. Normal power rating will obviously not produce that much. The reason you have not seen big numbers yet out of Canada with the Sundowns is the simple fact that most of the competitors that have been using them are relatively new to it and they do not have the perfect system setup yet. For you guys to just discredit these guys running at 3ohms, 1 run of 4gauge wire, 4ohm loads on a strapped pair and ect. Is just plain stupid. There is guys in the US hard core really competitors that have been running years that did drop in swaps and gained. So you haters can believe what you want and drink the DD kool-aid. But at the end of the day not all of us want to take out a mortgage for DD product. And believe that there is other products out there. Would not be much fun going to a show with just DD now would it.

So you're mad that people are bashing a relatively new, and relatively unproven product? Grow up and get over it for christ sake. Rather than fuel the anti-sundown crowd, keep quiet, give it another season and come back and say "I told you so" if people are successful running sundown up here.
Don't seek retrobution by trying to bash a company that has proven itself time and again as building some of the loudest and strongest equipment that money can buy over the past 7-10 years. Is DD the best? I don't think so. But DD subs and amps still continue to win trophies everywhere. And quality generally costs money....
